Danilo Bucchi: Contemporary Art in Dialogue with Antiquity
Sacred Theme – The Christ of All
On the occasion of ArteFiera, the Museum of the Risorgimento-Certosa in Bologna presents a contemporary art experience set in contact with antiquity, within the extraordinary context of the Church of San Girolamo of Certosa, a treasure trove of Bolognese Baroque painting. The young Roman painter Danilo Bucchi will create a large altarpiece that will temporarily replace the sixteenth-century painting depicting the Vision of Saint Bruno, currently under restoration. Bucchi will complete his work at Certosa, during a public event held in the Sala del Pantheon, or Hall of Illustrious Bolognese. The painting, which will be donated to the Municipality of Bologna on this occasion, will remain on the main altar of the Chapel of Saint Bruno until the return of the original piece.
